JP Hitesman has over ten years experience in a wide range of theatre and arts management based positions. This blog originally chronicled his theatergoing adventures in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he lived and worked from 2008 – 2011 while holding a variety of theatre – based positions, including marketing associate at Theatre Bay Area, assistant director for the 2010 Marin Shakespeare Company at San Quentin program, production manager with Porchlight Theatre Company, and as stage manager on a range of individual productions. Elsewhere in the US, JP has served as marketing associate at North Shore Music Theatre (Beverly, MA), assistant stage manager for three productions at the Chester Theatre Company (Chester, MA), marketing director with The Penny Seats (Ann Arbor, MI), resident assistant stage manager at PCPA Theaterfest (Santa Maria, CA), production stage manager at Theatre Exile (Philadelphia, PA), and with other regional companies. JP holds a BA from Hampshire College (Amherst, MA) in theatre and social change, and an MA from California Institute of Integral Studies (San Francisco, CA) in drama therapy. He is now in the final academic year of an MFA from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI) in theatre management.
